As always, the fashion world is ahead of our seasonal reality. While we’re busy compiling our Spring and Summer wishlists, there are plenty of bags available now to suit our immediate needs. One new model stands out for its effortless combination of classic CC vibes and functionality – the new Chanel 25 Bag.

With Dua Lipa announced as the face of the Chanel 25 handbag campaign and recently spotted carrying it at the Chanel Spring 2025 Couture show, all eyes are on the star and the bag. Though the full campaign won’t launch until March 2025, the Chanel 25 is already generating serious buzz.

First unveiled in the Cruise 2024/25 handbag collection, the Chanel 25 combines classic Chanel sophistication with modern practicality. With its relaxed, slouchy shape inspired by the Chanel 22 and a sleek trapezoid silhouette, the bag offers a fresh yet timeless appeal. Signature Chanel elements, such as the iconic CC emblems, quilted leather, and a chunky chain strap, bring a touch of vintage vibes to this everyday essential.

In the Chanel 25, form meets function, with useful details seamlessly integrated into its chic design. Side pockets, secured with CC fastenings, offer convenient storage for smaller essentials, while the main compartment is roomy enough for everyday necessities. The drawstring closure enhances the bag’s bucket-like silhouette and provides security and easy access to your belongings.
The Chanel 25 is available in three sizes. The large version measures 16.5 x 14.2 x 5.9 inches offering plenty of room, the medium version measures 15.7 x 11.8 x 5.9 inches, and the smaller size, at 11.8 x 10.2 x 5.5 inches, is ideal for those who prefer a more compact option. Although styled primarily as a handheld piece on the runway, the single chunky chain strap makes it easy and comfortable for shoulder wear.

Currently, the Chanel 25 Bag is available in boutiques in several shades of suede, including Gray and Beige, as well as White or Black calfskin leather from the Cruise 2024/25 collection.
However, there’s even more to look forward to in March, when the Spring-Summer 2025 lineup introduces the Chanel 25 in fresh seasonal shades and materials. Expect chic pastel tones like Pale Pink and Pale Green, as well as a laid-back Gray denim option, all accented with gold-tone hardware.

The Chanel 25 retails for $6,000 in the small size, $6,400 in the medium size, $7,300 in the large size—placing it at a higher price point than the Chanel 22 collection. Whether it will surpass the now-iconic Chanel 22 to claim the top spot in the hobo bag category remains to be seen—but it’s certainly making a strong case.

Totally flipping over this new release called the Chanel 25.
I finally made it to the Chanel boutique yesterday to preview the bag in person. As luck would have it, the day I inquired with my SA, a single piece in the L size had arrived (fyi, there are 3 sizes, read above). Chanel Chicago could not hold the piece till I could visit in person (understandably), so I gave my credit card to secure it.
Honestly, I have not been this excited about a CC bag in forever, but I still had to see in person for myself, and see if it would serve the purpose I had in mind. I was visualizing it as the perfect “quick travel bag”. I guess I should elaborate… by quick I mean a short business or personal trip. For my purposes it should be able to carry a Birkin or Kelly 25 plus maybe one mini sized bag. Think overnighters to NYC or Dallas or quick trips home to Miami where one might travel with just a carry on and the Chanel 25 :)
it would also make an excellent daily bag for someone who needs to carry much more than I do – dare I say a great mom / diaper bag too.
Of course I wore in the boots to match, LOL.
Gris Tourterelle Birkin 25 (bag of the day).
Wow! The Chanel 25 is as good or better than it looks! First, let me be clear that the size I selected is called the Medium. It’s still large and spacious though. My Birkin 25 fits comfortably inside (as does a Kelly 25) and for reference a MacBook Air in the 13 inch size does fit – but prevents the top to cinch.

Despite the size, the bag is very lightweight and comfortable over the shoulder, even over my puffy Moncler coat. The bottom is somewhat structured, like the sides – but it does not have feet. In case you decide to carry the likes of a bowling ball, the base can’t help.
The best feature is the side pockets that comfortably hold the iPhone 16 pro. These pockets make your phone, keys and anything else you may need quickly – easy to access (but pick one thing).
Peek-a-Birkin!
The toggle pull tightens the top but it will not close completely so if you’re looking to conceal contents, then this is not for you. One design feature missing I see in the bag is lack of an interior pocket. The style really could have benefited from a even just a small one to secure anything important, but my assumption is most aren’t thinking of this as travel bag.

Let’s talk about functionality — because a beautiful bag is only as good as what it can actually carry.
Having now road-tested both the Medium and Small sizes of the Chanel 25, I can confidently say this bag doesn’t just talk the talk — it delivers on practicality too. Whether you’re styling it for everyday errands or using it as a stylish travel tote, the Chanel 25 holds its own.

My Medium Chanel 25 — crafted in shiny calfskin with matte gold hardware — has quickly become my go-to “quick travel bag.” Priced at $6,400 plus tax, it offers generous capacity without feeling oversized or bulky.
So what actually fits? Inside the Medium Chanel 25:

The side pockets are especially useful — they easily accommodate an iPhone 16 Pro, keys, or AirPods, giving you quick access without having to dig.
Despite its roomy interior, the bag remains lightweight and extremely wearable, even layered over a puffy winter coat. The structure at the base gives it shape, but keep in mind — it does not have metal feet.

The Chanel 25 comes in multiple sizes, each with distinct proportions and purposes. For quick reference:

While both are designed with the same effortless hobo silhouette, the difference in capacity is noticeable. Think of the Small like a Birkin 25, and the Medium as more comparable to a Birkin 30. This makes the Medium ideal for travel or work, while the Small is perfect for lighter days or evening use.
Both sizes feature side pockets that are perfect for slipping in an iPhone, cardholder, or keys, giving you quick access to the essentials.

Of course, I couldn’t resist the silver caviar Small Chanel 25 — it was love at first sight. While my Medium is the workhorse travel-ready option, the Small in this stunning metallic finish is the perfect complement for lighter days (or just when I want that extra shine).

Having both sizes now in my rotation really puts their differences into perspective. The Small holds its own — it’s compact but by no means restrictive, and seeing them side by side really helps anyone trying to decide which size fits their lifestyle best.
Note: While the Small Chanel 25 doesn’t come with the shoulder pad that the Medium does, it still sits comfortably on the shoulder. Thanks to its lightweight design, it doesn’t dig in or cause discomfort, even after hours of wear.
