Before we get into specifics here’s a quick overview of the qualities of the mighty mini bags…
PROS
- Anything mini sized always makes our hearts skip a beat. In the end, mini bags are too irresistible because of their dainty size
- Mini bags, depending on their design, are versatile for many occasions from day to night because their stature doesn’t inappropriately overwhelm an outfit
- Mini bags are easier to carry since most designs offer crossbody straps. The bags themselves are less bulky and easier to maneuver
- A quality mini bag is an exact duplicate as its original, bigger style in terms of craftsmanship and aesthetic. You can get the same look of a iconic bag in a scaled down version for (sometimes) a comparably more affordable price
CONS
- Not everyone is infatuated with mini and it may not suit your personality. For some, mini bags can come off looking more childish than flatteringly dainty.
- Some micro and mini styles are meant to be used as “bag charms” in tangent with or in a bigger bag. For some, this is redundant and a bigger hassle
- Mini unfortunately means less storage. The items you carry are severely limited with mini bags (some nano and micro versions can barely hold a phone!). With smaller sizes, you become restricted in terms of space and have to carefully think about what to pack.
- Even though most mini bags (that aren’t exotic or limited edition) are cheaper than their counterparts, the price difference between a bigger bag may be so marginal that it’s hard to justify buying the mini or a bigger bag that offers a lot more in terms of space and material.
