Under the unseasonably warm blue skies gracing Paris, Hermès looks to another season of cooler temps as it unveils its Fall-Winter 2025 Ready-to-Wear collection on March 8, 2025. Held at the brand’s trusted venue, La Garde Républicaine, Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski brings the Maison’s signature mastery of leather, blending it with impeccable layering.

The collection is defined by “sharp edges, tailored shoulders, accented waists” with garments that are “[S]culptural, resilient, seductive,” as Hermès describes them. Like The Rider from Fall- Winter 2024, this season carried a similar edginess.
Hermès’ deep ties to the equestrian world were unmistakable this season, a natural extension of its heritage as a saddlery house. The show space, transformed into a riding arena with a sand-covered runway, set the tone. Models wove their way through stable-like partitions in what appeared to be a series of illuminated horseshoe-shaped paths. Classic riding boots, alongside sleek pointed styles, featured on nearly every look, some paired with technical quilted nylon and leather reminiscent of saddle pads. Precision tailoring and layered outerwear reinforced the collection’s balance of function and refinement, staying true to Hermès’ codes while embracing contemporary appeal. A sprinkling of black denim introduced a subtle Western flair, while biker-chic elements ran throughout, adding a tougher, more rebellious energy – an evolution of the Hermès woman. As Hermès relays in its program:
“She takes a stride. Determined. She moves forward, never looks back. She has everything she needs.”

Black – or noir, as Hermès would say – was the dominant force, enriched by contrasting textures of leather, wool, and shearling. Dark gray wools and a subtle suggestion of classic suiting defined the collection’s sharp tailoring, while the mood shifted gradually toward warmer tones. Stone hues and caramel-tinged beiges softened the intensity, offering a perfect balance to the darker palette. Then, a bold series of lime green looks injected an unexpected burst of energy, defying the subdued tones and bringing the collection to life. Deep browns followed, grounding the narrative with their earthy richness, enhanced by tactile velvet accents.

Handbags, of course, played a defining role this season, with a carefully curated selection that blended timeless classics with fresh debuts. Sleek shoulder bags were tucked neatly under the arm, while others were handheld or slung casually over the shoulder.

Birkin
While the Kelly was notably absent from the collection, the Birkin took center stage, making its presence felt in multiple iterations. Ranging from classic leather to designs in Feutre wool, the Birkin was showcased in sizes ranging from 25 to 35.

The Birkin gets Fall-Winter ready in a cozy combination of Feutre wool and leather, with two distinct styles. First up is the Birkin 35, which features an entirely wool body accented by leather trim along the top flap, sangles, handles, and reinforced corners – echoing the fabrication typically seen in the HAC lineup. This style was showcased in gray wool with complimentary gray leather.

Next, the Birkin 25 also embraced this wool and leather fusion. This smaller iteration, similar to the “Go Team” Birkin from the Fall-Winter 2023 collection, presented a clean design with exaggerated leather-reinforced corners and a leather top half. The structured Birkin 25 appeared in contrasting shades, such as light green wool paired with deep green leather, grays tones, as well as a neutral combination not dissimilar to Étoupe.

Classic all-leather iterations of the Birkin also made an appearance in the size 35. Presented in a range of neutral tones, these Birkins were crafted from the heritage Box Calfskin leather, as well as what we believe to be Chèvre.

Picotin
Continuing the theme of wool and leather bags, the Picotin returns this season. Presented in size 18, this beloved non-quota bag is reimagined with a sleek combination of Feutre wool and Swift leather. For those who appreciate the “Go Team” lineup but prefer a cleaner, more refined design, this version departs from its predecessor by forgoing the canvas strap and embroidered details for all-leather details.
This fresh take on the Picotin was showcased at the Hermès Re-See in the brown shade seen on the runway, alongside a gray version – both finished with palladium hardware.

Sac Kelly II Sellier Clouté
While the runway may not have featured a single Kelly, there was an unexpected surprise at the Hermès Objects Presentation. It’s official—the Sac Kelly II Sellier Clouté is back for Fall-Winter 2025, following its debut in the 2023 collection. This season, however, it sheds its Black Box calfskin biker-chic aesthetic in favor of a sophisticated off-white Box calfskin, offering a fresh yet equally bold interpretation. The signature studded detailing remains in palladium, creating a contrast against the soft white leather.

Bucket Bag
Perhaps set to become the Picotin’s newest rival, Hermès introduces a fresh bucket bag silhouette for Fall-Winter 2025. Styled slung casually over the shoulder, this slouchy design features a rectangular structured base, not dissimilar to the Picotin’s signature shape. However, the new style stands apart with its unique strap and chunky hardware, notably an oversized lobster clasp similar to those found on a horse lead rope. The bag features a double-length leather shoulder strap, which is adjustable to a single long length for versatile wear.

Shoulder Bag
Expanding on the lead-rope-inspired lineup, this understated yet luxe shoulder bag features a minimalist design, secured with the same clasp fastening as the new bucket bag. With a flap-front closure, a smaller flat pocket beneath the top flap, and an adjustable shoulder strap, the bag’s sleek, pared-back silhouette was showcased in a selection of leathers, including Togo in black and a deep brown.

Pochette
A sleek and chic pochette-style shoulder bag – not to be confused with the coveted Kelly Pochette – made multiple appearances on the Fall-Winter 2025 runway. With a slim profile and slightly curved silhouette, there are hints of the Petite Course bag, yet this one carries a significantly more minimalist vibe. This new style features a slim single shoulder strap anchored by a subtle H-style buckle. Void of prominent hardware, this clean and understated design was showcased in timeless Black, Gold, and shades of white and a rich green.
Additionally, at the Hermès Re-See, the bag was presented in luxurious white Chèvre leather.

Box Bag
A new addition for the season ahead, Hermès introduces the Box Bag, defined by its sleek east-west silhouette and pared-back design. The understated rectangular clasp resembles the links found on the vintage Hermès Rallye watch, composed of H-shaped links in a mix of gold and palladium. This distinctive Electrum hardware, a fusion of mixed metals, is now making its way onto select styles, including the Kelly, 24/24, Cinhetic bag, and, of course, this all-new Box Bag.
This quiet luxury style harkens to Phoebe Philo’s iconic Céline Classic Box Bag, which seemed inspired by Hermès’ Constance. With an adjustable shoulder strap, this chic accessory was showcased in black and gray on the runway, shown both hand-held and on the shoulder. At the Hermès Re-see, the Box Bag was also presented in a deep shade of green.

Vanity Case
Continuing the minimalist vibes, vanity-style boxes unexpectedly appeared on the Fall-Winter 2025 runway, adding a fresh twist to Hermès’ repertoire. The show opened with a petite black hand-held vanity bag characterized by its narrow profile and a rectangular clasp spanning the full width of the bag. The clasp features the same Electrum hardware H emblem seen on the Box Bag. Crafted in Box calf leather, the mini vanity reappeared in a neutral tan shade.

This design was bold in a larger version in the iconic Gold colorway with contrast stitching. Not just a bag but also a meticulously crafted beauty case. Reinforced top corners and a structured top handle enhance its refined silhouette, while four protective feet ensure durability. Thoughtfully constructed to house an array of Hermès beauty essentials, the bag features a dedicated top section designed to hold makeup brushes and lip/eye pencils, and the lower compartment is arranged to store lipsticks, nail polishes, and compacts.

Bolide
The iconic Bolide hit its stride on the Fall-Winter 2025 runway, reaffirming its status as a key piece in Hermès’ handbag lineup. Showcased in a range of sizes from the petite mini to the mid-size 30, the Bolide was predominantly presented in classic black and sophisticated gray, with the addition of the Volynka leather iteration adding depth to the lineup.

Della Cavalleria
The Della Cavalleria reappears for the season ahead, five years after its debut. With equestrian-inspired hardware shaped like a Verdun horse bit, the bag’s sleek, minimalist design was showcased in three colorways – black, a shade similar to Chai, and a rich brown. Despite its adjustable shoulder strap, the Della Cavalleria was styled hand-held or clutched close to the body.

HAC
Hermès’ original bag is firmly back in the spotlight, following its strong presence on the Men’s Winter 2025 runway in multiple iterations. Notably, a new edition of the HAC Multipockets was showcased at the Hermès Objects Presentation. First seen on the men’s runway, this latest take on the HAC draws inspiration from the Cargo HAC but elevates the design with a full leather construction. It is finished with two front patch pockets, each secured with a sleek, minimalist buckle fastening.
