It’s that time again . . . There were whispers. Expectations. And veiled confirmations. But it is here. Prices of Chanel Classics, Reissues and Boys are going up. You may not see it the hikes (yet) on bags in stores, however, a quick peek at the Chanel website makes it clear. Prices are up $300 for Classics and Reissues and $200 for Boys (or just under or above 5%), depending upon the bag.
A medium classic flap in black with gold hardware, which listed at $5300 this summer and early fall, now has an online tag of $5600. Jumbos will be $6200, up from $5900. And the maxi will tip the scales at $6700, from $6400.
Similarly, the large reissue that was $5900, has climbed to $6200, and the other sizes should rise with the Classics..
Not to be left out, the Boys are also going up. For example, the large gray chevron Boy formerly tagged at $5200, now is $5400.
So, are you price-shocked? Or were you expecting this? More importantly, is your bank account ready, willing and able to shell out more for these Chanel bags. Let us know.
