Part 2: Here’s How Much Chanel Prices are Rising
When we broke the big news last month that Chanel prices were increasing in the U.S. on October 31, we received one question over and over again: Will the price increase also be affecting Europe? The short answer is yes. In November, just following the U.S., Europe saw a price increase as well. And, unlike the U.S. price hike, which was less than we expected based on past years, the European hike is hefty. Brace yourselves.

Analysis
The extent of this change certainly came as a surprise, especially since prices only increased about 2 to 3% in the U.S—not anywhere near as much as the ~7% across-the-board increase in Europe. It’s significant, and the question we have left to answer is…why?
Well, it’s certainly in line with greater global price harmonization, where prices around the globe are more similar. The Medium Classic Flap, for instance, now retails for €5,150, which is the equivalent of $5,676 at current exchange rates. (Compare this to the $5,800 price in the U.S. since the October increase.) Now, it may not be as savvy to buy your Chanel bags abroad, which is something worth considering when it comes to luxury travel. (Read: Important Tips for Traveling with Luxury Goods)
