There’s a new Dior bag in town. Meet the Dior Caro. Featuring the house’s classic Cannage print, this new flap style bag is available in two sizes and a plethora of colors and materials. There’s even a version in the new Tie & Dior style which debuted for Resort 2021. The Dior Caro bag sports a removable strap which can be swapped out for any one of the house’s stand-alone strap designs. When combining the style’s eye-catching print with the mix-and-match strap option, the Dior Caro is sure to make heads turn this season.

Dior’s new design features the house’s classic CD logo twist clasp in antique gold or silver-finish metal at the centre of the flap opening. Honoring Dior’s rich legacy, ‘30 Montaigne’ is embossed on the back of the bag as a reference to the House’s headquarters in Paris. The back also features an easily accessible pocket. The Dior Caro bag is available in two sizes – small and large.

While the design may look akin to Dior’s popular 30 Montaigne bag, the Caro style features sides with a wider opening as opposed to the accordion style sides of the 30 Montaigne. These make the bag slightly larger in width and more spacious inside. The Dior Caro is also less structured than the 30 Montaigne and features the Cannage print instead of grained or smooth calf leather or the house’s Monogram design. Cannage print has long been a favorite of Dior lovers since the unique pattern was made famous after appearing on the iconic Lady Dior bag.

The chain leather strap sports the ‘Christian Dior’ military-inspired buckle and is both adjustable and removable. Therefore, like many other popular Dior styles, the strap is interchangeable and can be swapped out for any of the brand’s removable strap designs.
The Dior Caro’s thin chain leather strap makes for an elegant carry option. The bag can be worn crossbody or the strap can be doubled up if you choose to wear the Dior Caro on the shoulder. Alternatively, you can opt to pair the new Caro style with one of Dior’s signature thick, logoed strap options, a favorite amongst fashion influencers.

The new Dior Caro design comes in soft calfskin in a myriad of color options. The large Dior Caro is available in Black, Gray, Ivory and Beige. The smaller size is available in these neutral tones plus Cloud Blue, Mint Green and Rose Des Vents.

The design’s smaller size is also available in a further three material options – shearling, denim and the new Multicolor Tie & Dior denim.
Shearling bags have been a staple of fashion brands’ bag offerings for quite some time now. And since it seems no fashionista’s bag collection is complete without a shearling design, it is only fitting that Dior’s latest bag release has a shearing option. Loveable like a teddy bear, this fluffy material version is available in two hues – Camel-colored and Gray.

Love them or loathe them, there’s no denying the pull of denim bags. In recent seasons this trend has been especially prevalent. At present the allure of denim is particularly enticing thanks to the revival of Y2K fashion – notoriously a time when instead of just a denim accessory, celebrities and fashion fanatics alike would dress themselves head-to-toe in the material. Each side of the Dior Caro’s denim variation features a different wash of denim, giving the bag a patchwork effect. We can’t help but wonder what the denim option would look like with one of Dior’s logoed multicolor embroidered straps. Our bet is on the pairing being a match made in handbag heaven!

In recent seasons another retro trend has made its way onto the catwalk. Tie-dye. No longer solely the uniform of ‘90s cool kids, this dyeing technique which dates back to ancient Asia has made it into the ateliers of esteemed fashion houses. Dior’s own take on the style, Tie & Dior, which we first saw on the house’s Resort 2021 runway, incorporates a collection of soft, whimsical hues. The Tie & Dior design for the new Dior Caro bag is set against washed white denim and features a pale pink and dark blue motif. Uniquely mesmerizing materials are steadily becoming a staple of the house – and we must say we’re huge fans!
