Inside North West’s Handbag Collection

At only ten years old, North West, the oldest child of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, is fast becoming a fashion icon in her own right. West already has developed her own personal style, usually opting for a mix of Japanese-inspired streetwear with high-end accessories.

A few years ago, a (now deleted) TikTok she posted of her handbag collection, garnered millions of views. The jaw-dropping collection featured ultra-expensive pieces including the Pepperoni Pizza Clutch from Judith Leiber, retailing at $5,695, as well as a Judith Leiber collaboration piece with Disney, a crystal-encrusted pumpkin carriage clutch.

The collection also included a more modest, Fendi Nano Green Baguette, a Louis Vuitton Nano Speedy, and a Louis Vuitton Multicolour Trousse – unsurprisingly given that West is a huge fan of Takashi Murakami, who designed the collection in 2002. Of course, no it-girl closet is complete without an Hermès Birkin, and West owns a white Birkin 25 which she had worn a few years ago.

We’ve yet to see another glimpse into the young fashionista’s closet, but we have seen recent glimpses of her outfits on Kim Kardashian’s Instagram. It’s not clear whether every bag North West sports is her own, or her mother’s, but even at ten years old, she manages to style everything in her own unique way. On one occasion, West was seen wearing Kim’s rare metal Dior saddle bag, designed by Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama.

Diesel 1DR Iconic shoulder bag

Probably the most modestly priced bag we’ve seen West wear recently has been the Diesel 1DR Iconic shoulder bag, retailing for $650. In the same picture, her cousin, Penelope, daughter of Kourtney Kardashian, was sporting a tiny version of the same bag.

The duo, along with Kim and Khloe Kardashian were attending the Beyoncé Renaissance Tour date on September 4, coincidently Beyoncé’s birthday. The artist has requested all attendees to wear silver in honor of the day, which explains the silver monochrome outfits.

Vintage Ostrich Christian Dior Saddle Bag

During one of the West-Kardashian family trips to Japan, North was seen posing with a friend, wearing a vintage ostrich Christian Dior saddle bag in a green color. The addition of new vintage handbags is no surprise when Japan is notorious for its vintage handbag scene.

Vintage Patent Chanel Quilted Vanity Bag

In keeping with the vintage theme, which is a running theme in West’s collection, this Patent Chanel Quilted Vanity Bag. This is a quirky piece from the 90s which also features a heart-shaped mirror on the inside. This is a fitting bag for West as it comes from the 1995 Spring runway at Chanel, aptly known as the “Barbie Collection”. The collection was made even more relevant with Margot Robbie’s character in Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie”, she was seen wearing multiple items from the Chanel 90’s kitschy collections.

Balenciaga Neo Classic

The Kardashian-West’s have a controversially long relationship with Balenciaga, but unlike others, they are still seen maintaining their relationship with the brand, and utilising the pieces they do have. This Balenciaga Neo Classic is a low-key everyday bag, even for a 10 year old.

Dolce & Gabbana Beaded Crocodile Kiss Lock Crossbody

Most recently, while on vacation in Portofino, her vacation closet didn’t disappoint – In fact, it’s better than ours. This unassuming clutch is the Dolce & Gabbana Beaded Crocodile Kiss Lock crossbody. It’s a traditional soft clutch shape with an intricate mosaic pattern and nude crocodile skin trim.

What is endearing about North West is that beyond all the handbags and clothes, she is still just a kid. For her own 10th birthday, she did a classic pyjama slumber party, albeit at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Surprisingly, she was sans handbag.
