I went back to the sale on Sunday the last day and bought shawls and this hat that I am in love with.
The shawl I believe is called Flamingo Party, right? My shawl collectors will know best.

Hermes Sale Chicago
Quick info and Tips
by @luxe_b

1. Parking is a challenge around Randolph street area. Consider an Uber or a taxi.
2. The line is on Carpenter street side, not Randolph side.
3. I got there by 9:30 am and was about 30th in line. There were women who cut ahead of the line. Security was present after about 10:30 am and after the complaints were made of “line-cutters”.
4. Doors opened at 11:00 am sharp. About 60 people were let in as the “first” group.
5. If you are interested in jewelry, proceed directly to the jewelry area, as it is the only area that has a separate line inside. To get there – you will past the people giving out plastic bags, turn left, pass the scarves and turn left again.
6. Jewelry was the only area that had a 15 minute time limit once you get through the line (although no one said “your 15 minutes are up”, as I can remember).
7. There is a limit on click H (2) and leather and other bracelets (4).
8. Once you select your jewelry items, they will hold them at the checkout. You will not be walking around with them. The other items, like scarves and footwear, you will carry with you.
9. SAs are all very lovely and helpful. If you tell them what you are looking for, there will try to find it for you. Example: I was looking for a particular scarf pattern, but they had a very short supply of those. I saw an associate wearing it and she said that I could have it. It was brand new with tags, like the rest of the scarves. She explained to me that they were “modeling” them.
10. There is a large variety of shoes, sandals and boots.
11. All jewelry, scarves and footwear are 50% off. Clothing is 60% off. No belts.
12. You will not be allowed to bring in water in with you.
13. You may bring a folding chair and a snack. I brought work to do, but mixing with people was so much fun that I did not get to do any of it.
14. Have fun and enjoy!

We waited for two hours to get in, but the time passed really quickly. Although there were similarities to the Paris sales, there were some important differences. In Paris we had to queue for ladies shoes, point to what we wanted which was behind the counter and then try them on (and there was a 15 minute limit for the shoe section). The shoe set up in Chicago was much better. The shoes were arranged by size, in their boxes on racks. You could take your time and try things on yourself with no time limit. Last summer the Paris sale lacked jewelry, but the winter sale had jewelry. The limits were different than in Chicago. In Paris you could choose up to 4 clic H bracelets, but in Chicago, you could only choose two. Also in Paris the jewelry section had a time limit, but there wasn’t a time limit at the Chicago sale. I didn’t linger, but I didn’t have to rush as much either. To me it was a much more relaxed atmosphere than the Paris sales. I felt like I was able to take my time and figure out what I wanted. It was a great day with my good pals. I really enjoyed spending the day together! xoxo -CTC

    Thanks babe!

  • PatiEv

did you manage to get more than 2 bracelets or did someone else pick the other 2 for you? Beautiful finds!!!

  • Chi town Chanel

Hi and thank you! The jewelry limit was 6 total jewelry items per person. The limit for H bracelets (clic clac and clic H) was two. So I got my limit of 2 H bracelets, plus I found two others I liked. So I purchased these myself. I didn’t reach my total jewelry limit of 6 items.

I attended the private H sale with my dearest girlfriends. We met at the SB and walked over to the location around 11am. Private sale promptly started at 1pm. It was well organized and less chaotic than Paris H sale. There were plenty of Jewelry, silks, shawls, shoes, RTW, and men’s wear, all 50% to 60% off. I was hoping to find some home goods & small leather items but not this go around. None the less, I had a successful shopping day and here are my H goodies. ?

I attended the private sale today and it was my first H sale! After reading about past sales in NY and Paris, we decided to show up early, arriving shortly after 8 and were the first people in line! We were instructed to queue up on the side of the building under the scaffolding rather than on Randolph. About 10-15 people started to show up shortly after but majority of the people didn’t arrived until after 11. They let about 60 people in for the first round and that was not at all crowded once you are inside. There were good stock of silk scarves and cashmere shawls (where I spent most of my time). Most were from 2014-2015 seasons, I believe. 2 cashmere shawls are allowed per person but no limit for other silks if I’m not mistaken. Pretty good selections of clic clac, shoes, and boots in all sizes, mens and womens, including jumping boots. Silks, shoes, accessories were 50% off and RTW 60%. Unfortunately, no leather goods, ties, or housewares. Overall, a very good experience.

    Hi Lion ‘n libra

Do you remember how much the jumping boots were?

  • It was 50% of retail so around $1400-1500 I think.

Hello friends,
I made it home at midnight Tuesday night from NYC to make it to the sale today (Wednesday the 18th) for the private day of the Chicago Hermès sale. I will share a brief account of my experience and scores. The sale started at 1pm today. My girlfriends and I reached at approximately 11. It was a SALE reunion as it was the same group that came with me to Paris in January 2016 where we attended the Paris SALE that we covered extensively for you. See articles highlighted above. Read: Hermès On Sale?

At 11 am we were fairly close to the front of the line. Having each other for company made the time fly by. Please keep in mind this was the private day so I cannot anticipate the crowd tomorrow once the sale opens to the public.
It was very calm and systematic. Shortly after 1pm the doors opened and the first group entered slowly. The reception requested our ID’s to verify that we had been granted a VIP pass for the private day. We were given the same clear large plastic bag as we had been given in Paris to place all the items we wanted to purchase. We did not wear any Hermès items to the sale as advised by our home store sales associates. We all carried cross body bags for hands free shopping.

Once we entered the space we were free to visit any of the areas inside and no time limit was specified to us unlike in Paris where your time was monitored (if you haven’t read our Paris SALE stories yet, I highly urge you to now— Read: Hermès Sale Goodies

Again I cannot confirm the same timing tules will hold true for the public days starting tomorrow.

The jewelry and accessories section had a seperate queue inside. I waited approximately 10 minutes. There was a limit to purchase a total of 7 jewelry/accessory items including a max of two H clics per person. All jewlery was 50% off. There was a nice selection of clic clacs, H clics, enamel bracelets, and some leather too (but no CDC’s though). Both gold and palladium hardware were available in both sizes of bracelets. Many clic clacs were with the white hardware. There were a limited number of colors but very wearable choices like red’s and blues and a variety of pastels.

Lot’s of RTW for both men and women with ample fitting rooms at a 60% reduction.

There were limited designs of silk scarves and cashmere shawls for sale. If I remember correctly, with a limit of 2 each. This seemed to be the HOT spot at the sale, but somehow I was just not interested so I dot have more details to report. Everything here was 50% off too.

No bags of any kind, no leather goods and sadly no housewares available at this sale.

I found the space layout to be inviting and easy to peruse. Today it was not crowded and the selling staff was all very pleasant and helpful. It was nice to see a few familiar Chicago store faces but I understand that was for the private day only.

Few tips:
-wear comfy shoes
-carry a cross body
-if you are trying shoes- DON’T WEAR BOOTS (like I did – as difficult to take on and off while standing)
-don’t wear Hermès items
-if it’s sunny, take an umbrella for shade. It was really HOT waiting in line in the sun.

I’ll update my haul tomorrow and hopefully so will my shopping mates. I hope this helps. Ask any questions and I’ll do my best to reply.
We welcome anyone to share their experiences here please, especially from the public days.

Happy shopping everyone ?

Any update on location and opening hours? I think it might be time to do a mini-vacation in Chicago ?

  • Pursebop

Just updated that info above :)

  • I’m going to London in January and might have a chance to go to the Paris sale. I wonder if I should save my money for that one instead as there might be more inventory. There was a sale last week here in Manhasset, NY but I heard it was disappointing.
