Louis Vuitton Launches A New Monogram Canvas for Fall/Winter 2020

You read that right! Louis Vuitton is kick starting Fall/Winter 2020 with a brand new Monogram canvas.

Designed by the house’s creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, the new look is a quirky twist of Louis Vuitton’s classic Monogram conceived way back in 1896. The pattern consists of Vuitton’s classic Monogram flower and ‘LV’ motifs alongside inscriptions of the line’s name, ‘Since 1854’. The name pays tribute to the year of Louis Vuitton’s founding.

Featuring motifs of varying sizes, the design debuted on the house’s Fall/Winter 2020 runway during Paris Fashion Week at the beginning of this year. On the runway Ghesquière presented the new Monogram design in a flat messenger style bag and mini bag akin to Vuitton’s classic Noé. The pattern appeared in khaki-colored fabric embellished with the classic Monogram flower and ‘LV’ motifs in black and white and paired with deep burgundy leather.

Thanks to the release of the house’s Fall 2020 campaign we’ve gotten a glimpse of more bags from the new Monogram collection. Some of the house’s most beloved designs feature the new canvas including the Seedy, Keepall, Dauphine, Pochette Metis and Petite Malle. Styles come in varying black and burgundy hues in addition to the khaki seen on the Paris Fashion Week runway.

The bags have a classic vintage feel which exemplifies the eternal appeal of the brand. We even spotted a trunk – it doesn’t get more classic LV than that!

The collection is set to be made available on the Louis Vuitton website soon.

Love the black and white

I have to admit I’m not a fan of this monogram. I am a fan of the larger, more graphic monogram that came out earlier in the season…
