Hello! I have a doubt about the quota system and I really need the help of this amazing community to help me.
I was in Paris last February and scored a Birkin 30 ???????? But I will return to Paris in December and would like to try my luck again in order to score a kelly. Can I do that or the quota system bloques me?

It’s one thing to out-law the production and sales of replica handbags, but to make it illegal to carry one? Replicas are becoming much harder to spot, so to think someone can just assume my bag is fake and attempt putting me in prison, is rather unsettling. I’ve been trying to do research, but am still a bit confused. How does this law actually work? Is it trained law-enforcement or mainly just customs in international travel? If there’s a chance customs might second-guess the authenticity of my handbag and interrogate me, I’m less likely to carry something high-end luxury; while traveling. I don’t need that causing an anxiety attack :’)

It’s not new to me, I can speak for France and Switzerland for sure, I was raised and lived in Switzerland . The fakes have been a major offense ever since I can remember. Fake watches, bags, Lacoste Polo etc… if you get caught with anything fake in your luggage during a random check, or on a random check at the border between countries just driving through.. back in the days when they still had borders,…you could get in serious trouble! the fee for transporting a fake is really high, still is and always has!! I believe you can even get jailed!! Fakes were never tolerated and I really like the idea…Even if you come back with fake Lacoste Polos from Thailand (back when I was younger) China and everywhere else now, it was the same situation, it is not limited to watches and bags only, it’s any brand fakes! It’s a real war against fakes!!! some people didn’t even realized they had bought fakes!!! They were naive and thought that with the exchange fee they were doing good,.. Every once in a while the police will pile up the fakes on the streets and go over with a huge steamroller!! Kind of like a warning!!!! I have seen it done more than once!! It’s liberating!!!
I really like the idea that there is no tolerance!! Speaking for Switzerland and the high standard of Swiss watches, they need to fight against fakes that lower the image of the Brand!
Now a days fakes are much harder to be identified, I am specially thinking of watches like Rolex!! Unfortunately with the EU and lack of border control the situation got out of control, Switzerland is not part of the EU, but I recently decided to go back home from Geneva but going around the lac Léman on the French side and the border are absolutely uncontrolled !!! I mean nobody is there to watch who is getting in or out, it’s insane!!!and only recently government realized they have gone to far but going back to how it used to be will take a long time!!

And in other purse snatching news: the Charleston SC Louis Vuitton store reportedly suffered three incidents of bag lifting in the last month. Among the $10,000 in heisted haul were wallets, a black and blue tote, a Jake backpack and possibly a Keepall bandolier 45.

I would definitely buy a gucci imitation by gucci. Its original in the sense where no other brands have done it before. Sort of a way of the brand ‘laughing’ at the counterfeit industry. Kinda amusing when I first saw it haha.

I don’t believe it would affect the counterfeit industry though. They would just have to be more creative in coming out with another tweaks here in there to differentiate them with the “gucci imitation by gucci”. They have been creative thus far so I don’t think they would stop now.

@tkloves is the first in our community to share more photographs of magnolia pink. She took the time to snap a few photographs for our curious minds. According to her descriptions to me over the phone she describes it as softer and less “in your face” than RP. It’s bright but not as bold as Rose Pourpre. @tkloves found this to be her preference of the two.

I know from personal experience how difficult it is to capture RP’s natural hue in store lights. So I think we must assume the same for Magnolia. In these photos it does look very similar to RP and I guess till we get a side by side comparison it may be tricky to ascertain the distinct differences!

In this first photo I do think I can feel the lighter tone of pink, my guess is this is more pink, and less purple in comparison to RP. Both beautiful, unfortunately it may be too similar for both in ones collection but never say never ?

Where’s the H Stamp Gone?

Hey Libby! As far as I know, from maybe 2017 on they got rid of an identifying year corresponding stamp. I believe to cut down on fake bags. So the numeric code Hermes uses now or maybe the artisans specific stamp has a year meaning to Hermes only, but we as customers wouldn’t know it. I’m not positive on this, but PurseBop might have better info? Hope this helps! xoxoxo

I have to be honest, it is so close to Pourpre I personally would not have both in my collection … but if you truly must, then maybe go for a Kelly In Magnolia since your RP is a Birkin.

Libby, that is such an amazing unique Ricky!!!! I’ve loved Ricky’s for years and years and always hope they will gain some more traction – I’m obsessed with the two I have! My tan with SHW has really got a beautiful patina over the last few years and has held up beautifully.
