Another day, another handbag heist. The Oakbrook, Illinois (a tony Chicago suburb) Louis Vuitton store was the scene of a smash and grab robbery yesterday. Again. According to local police reports, around 3am May 22, three suspects drove a large SUV into the front door of the store and got away with about $50,000 in bags and luggage. In 2014, eight people broke into the same store by driving a minivan into the front. They took about $120,000 worth of goods. Just last year, in April 2017, the Louis Vuitton store on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile was the site of another robbery by car crash.
We have noticed an uptick in criminals targeting these luxury brands for theft. While not impossible, it seems unlikely the alleged perpetrators are label-lovers short on cash. Rather, it just goes to show how hot luxury bags are, literally.

It is so sad to know we can’t even go shop for luxury items with peace of mind., at NM here the high end bags are tied up with metal wires… years ago when I saw that I tealized we were ahead of sad times!! LV has a guard standing at the door the whole time!! But I will be surprise if he could do something, I don’t believe the gun is loaded..,
