On July 29, 2023, a group of criminals targeted the Audemars Piguet Boutique in Boston on Boylston Street and carried out a daring heist just before closing time. The incident saw three suspects apprehended by the police, while a fourth remains at large.
The luxury watch boutique boasts an extensive collection of highly collectible timepieces, with prices ranging from $18,000 to a staggering $250,000. Armed with hammers, the perpetrators forcefully broke into the boutique, hastily snatching up any luxury watches they could before fleeing down Boylston Street.
Fortunately, the police were quick to respond and managed to intercept the suspect’s getaway car at the corner of Tremont and Boylston Streets. Three of the criminals were swiftly apprehended at the scene. However, the driver of the vehicle managed to escape on foot, disappearing towards Stuart Street, leaving law enforcement in hot pursuit.
Upon searching the vehicle in question, the police discovered incriminating evidence, including a watch still in its box, a sledgehammer, and a firearm. Thankfully, no one was injured during the robbery.
The three arrested individuals have been identified and are set to be prosecuted in Boston Municipal Court to face charges related to the armed robbery.
