Well, this is unusual. And interesting. The July Paris Couture Fashion week has Alaïa and Celine presenting collections at virtually the same time. Although, they are not the same season or gender. And both brands seem out of sync as neither brand is showing Couture.
Specifically, Celine recently sent a save-the-date for its men’s summer 2024 show, July 2 at 8:30 pm. Alaïa is scheduled to present its Spring 2024 women’s ready-to-wear on July 2 at 8pm. It is likely logistically not possible to attend both.
Technically, Celine, owned by LVMH, is presenting outside of the designated Paris Men’s Spring 2024 Fashion Week taking place June 20-25. And Alaïa’s show is one of two occurring the evening before the official open of Paris Women’s Couture Week, even though it is showing ready-to-wear.
If you had to choose, which show would you rather attend? Let us know.
