It’s not the day to shop at the Chanel boutique near the famed Paris Champs Elysée on avenue Montaigne. The store is closed due to an early morning robbery where suspects used a vehicle to break windows before grabbing merchandise, burning the vehicle, and fleeing in a second car. The incident occurred at about 5:15 am, and reports thus far estimate the value of stolen items between €6-10 million.
The incident occurred at Chanel’s 42 avenue Montaigne location. Chanel also has a nearby boutique across the street at 51 avenue Montaigne, and several other stores throughout Paris. In addition, Chanel has boutiques at department stores Galeries Lafayette and Bon Marche, with shoes also carried at La Samaritaine.
Last month a similarly styled robbery occurred at the Harry Winston boutique near the Champs Elysée.
