I for sure don´t. I think they are extremely overpriced, specially the Hermès ones, since they are only made of leather (no fur like the Fendi ones). What are your thoughts?

Well price wise, based on this pairing, my AlmaBB is just about 200usd (more or less) difference with its Fendi Mini Karlito charm ?

Yes they are expensive…but if you like it and it makes you happy, then it is worth it. I like the rodeo charms but i won’t be collecting every single colors. I like to get a few colors i like and decorate my bags occassionally :)

I agree

This one is for Bella :) bag charms need not be childish, sometimes these little accents may make the bag look ‘happier’, and it’s what what makes it yours. :) the little charms are carmencitas, to add some colour.. Just to share!

Certainly WAYYYYYY too expensive, but the damn things just make me so ridiculously giddy happy looking at them. So in that case… at what price happiness? With a limit for me though; I don’t buy every colorway/size out there, I’ve chosen the ones that are best suited for my bag collection :)

Hiiiii LeOrangeBliss and welcome to Boptalk!!!! Hope you have a great time here with and please do share your to die for bag/shoes/accessories collection :) Kokomo is very welcome too… we LOVE them all ;) !!!
-
LeOrangeBliss well said, although I am relatively new to the bag charm phenomena, I agree, these critters make me really happy. I don’t like them on my bag for every occasion, I personally feel there’s a time and a place for them but they are a cheerful accessory for my bags. The charms are def more suited for the handheld B’s & K’s style bags. Clearly they are not designed for a chained over the shoulder Chanel therefore I suppose I had little interest till the last couple of years.

Is a Range Rover worth the price when you can buy a Jeep for a fraction of the cost? Is *anything* designer truly worth the price? It’s all down to each individual and their situation. For some people a Michael Kors is excessive for others a Birkin is like a box chocolates. Most of us will have a different opinion.
Personally, I love Fendi’s bag charms. They’re fun and vary in price, so you can pick one up on the “cheap” side. If a small ball of fur makes someone happy then, yeah, it’s worth the price. People need to lighten up a little.

Well I own a Fendi Monster Bag Charm, and the price is really worth it.
For HERMES you pay the brand but of course the more you pay, the better is the quality of the item and will last much longer. I think they are all worth it and at the end its only our preferences that counts.

well said :) I agree.

Too add to my original thoughts, I know the Rodeo charms are a little easier to digest, I see why some people wouldn’t take the fendi monsters seriously. Does anyone know any other brands popular for their bag charms?

I would be more accepting of some of these bag charms if they didn’t look so much like fake keychains. I like the simple leather bag charms with initials or just a basic shape. Adding a giant neon yellow fur ball to a beautiful bag is overkill, IMO.

I have to defend bag charms! It’s hard to argue with evidence that they’re worth the price — fair enough. BUT, most new fashion crazes seem trivial and not worth the money at first. I want my bags to have a little personal flair, or color coordinate my silly charms to my bags. Who knows if the bag charm trend will last, but I can’t resist their cuteness for now. It should be a question of look not price

I agree :) Bag charms personalizes an otherwise ‘generic’ bag… The bag charms need not be outrageous or expensive, it’s dressing your bag to how you are feeling for the day!
-
i would also agree that bag charms make you a stand out in a sea of bags..well with reagrds to pricing i think it depends..on my Karlito with pink hair i think i can understand the pricing despite my wallet crying after purchasing it?. we all have those guilty pleasures in life and that’s why i work hard and shop harder?⚓️

I agree that bag charms are expensive considering one could very well purchase a great bag for the cost of a charm, however this could be explained in terms of relativity. If one is adorning a 15,000 dollar bag with a $500 dollar charm, the perspective of expensive changes.

i totally agree with bella, what's the point?? why make a 15k bag look like it came from claire's?
-
LOL perfect answer hotsauce!!! Bravo!!!!

although I don’t agree personally, my husband says exactly what you do hotsauce, I think you are a guy :)

I don’t like bagcharms… They are so childish. Also think they are overpriced.

curious, do you even like bags?
-
Very much, but only the real bags, not the plastic bizarre ones that Chanel is releasing every season. Birkin, Kelly, 2.55...these are real bags, not Petrol Can bag (my eyes hurt at the sight of this one), Perfume Bottle Bag, Pearl Bag, these just cannot be considered bags.
-
and for the record the ones you listed that cannot be considered bags, are my very favorite bags! Of course, it's all a matter of personal opinion. I am a Chanel collector and look forward to the 'plastics' as you call them.
-
I still think the plastic bags (I know the correct term is plexiglass, but it´s still plastic) are hideous, but respect you for liking and purchasing them since you´re a collector. But I´d suggest you use them a lot now to make them worth their price, once I´m pretty sure 10 years from now they will just be sitting pretty in your closet.
