Front-row tickets to Drake’s concert in Los Angeles on Wednesday, August 16, turned out to be the luckiest ticket in town for one fan. The hip-hop star, known for his extravagant lifestyle, left the crowd stunned when he strutted onto the stage carrying a pink Hermès Birkin. In a shocking display of admiration for his fans, he then carefully handed it over to a lucky lady in the front row.
This iconic moment is now immortalized in a TikTok video that is currently circulating on social media. The bag itself appears to be a Birkin 30 in either Togo or Epsom, in a perfect pink hue with palladium hardware. This wasn’t just a gesture, it was a statement – as Drake handed over the Birkin, he proudly announced “Drake ain’t cheap!”
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Drake has shown his affinity for Birkin bags. In 2017, he revealed in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter that he was amassing a collection of these luxurious handbags with a unique purpose in mind. He confessed, “I’ve been collecting Birkin bags for the woman I end up with.” It appears that Drake’s grand plan of gifting these luxurious bags is still very much in motion!
In the end, it’s clear that these front-row tickets were more than worth their weight in gold. We sure do hope that this fan was escorted by security!
UPDATE:
But that wasn’t all that happened that night… In the ultimate show of support, Drake’s father uplifted the rapper’s show – tossing a humungous pink bra on stage with a note wishing Drake “big things for you, I love you, and making sure you are breastfed correctly!” Drake quickly discarded the oversized bra and tossed it into the crowd – unfortunately it wasn’t another Birkin this time round!
Drake’s father, Dennis Graham was joining in on fans’ big bra tossing craze. However, he took his joke one step further and had Zoba Martin, the Canadian-based couture and ready-to-wear designer create the oversized bra. Zoba Martin told 21Ninety “I worked on the bra for a whole day and finished it the next morning.” Now that’s one big statement from Dennis!
That’s certainly a Drake concert to remember! But what’s more memorable, the dad joke, or the Birkin?
