WWD reports that, at a recent auction, prices paid for vintage Hermès bags exceeded expectations by about 60%. Artcurial offered 150 lots at its sale running between May 29 and June 4, netting €242,000 as compared to the estimated €150,000. On the other hand, art sales at Christie’s, Sotheby’s and Phillips fell 97% in May.

Interestingly, Birkin 35s and 40s, which are less-favored sizes at the moment, experienced popularity during the sale, according to Artcurial.
