As this will be my first Hermes purchase, I need some help on the color selection.
I am totally in love with the Hermes briefcases, I have used Gucci exclusively in the past and feel as if I need to mature and upgrade my style in a sense…
What do you guys think? Should I get the black or the taupe? I like both but I want to know which one do you think looks better.

Given it’s for work and ur wardrobe preference, although both colours are equally versatile, I’d prefer black. Classic and timeless. Especially love greys with black.

my vote is Taupe even if you mostly wear black and grey… I believe taupe will work just fine with any color, it´s so neutral.

I think you answered your question by saying what colors you usually wear aweiss. Go for the black

Leaning towards black…even though you’ll have versatility with both neutrals, black will give that elegant, professional wow you’re probably looking for. I also agree less visible wear and tear for something you’re carrying around all the time.

Those briefcases look stunning… But I’m leaning towards taupe ;)

You might also consider that wear and tear will show much less with black over long time use. My breifcase is a Louis Vuitton that I have had for years, but because it’s brown the handles etc look pretty beat up now. My vote is for black, especially if you wear mostly black and greys. Looking forward to a reveal someday soon I hope!

i don't think i agree, i think the black will show damage more easily than the brown. sort of like scratches on a silver vs. black car, no?

one way to look at it hotsauce!

Gosh, I love both :) but as this is a major purchase selecting the right color is a crucial decision. I would suggest taking a detailed look at your wardrobe color preferences. For example, do you tend to wear more greys & blacks or more earth toned colors such as tan, olives, and browns? What shoes do reach for the most?

Wow, thank you for such a fast response! I tend to wear mostly black and grey at work. I like to have a clean and simple look yet professional (nothing to flashy). My shoes are always black or dark brown (if I am wearing grey) - I usually wear Oxfords. I am leaning more toward the black since it would match the types of clothes I typically wear, but I see the taupe more versatile. I only wish to get both lol.
