Goyard has unveiled its latest handbag, and it’s poised to be a new classic. Meet the Duchesse Marie-Caroline, a practical yet elegant piece from the Maison.
The envelope-style bag measures 15 cm x 6.5 cm x 25 cm, boasting an almost east-west-inspired silhouette. Crafted from a combination of iconic Goyardine canvas and Cervon Calfskin, the Duchesse Marie-Caroline is secured with a clasp, revealing a single spacious main compartment inside.
Versatility is at the heart of the Duchesse Marie-Caroline, effortlessly transitioning from a crossbody and shoulder bag to a clutch, thanks to its removable chain shoulder strap.
The bag pays homage to one of Goyard’s most esteemed customers – HRH the Duchess Marie-Caroline of Berry. Born a Neapolitan princess, she wedded one of the sons of the King of France, leaving an indelible mark on 19th-century Paris.
Currently, the bag can be found in six iconic shades – Black, Black/Tan, Navy Blue, Burgundy, White, and Grey, and all shades are paired with silver-tone hardware.
What are your thoughts on Goyard’s latest offering? Will you be adding a Duchesse Marie-Caroline to your collection?
