Celine’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection took a nostalgic trip back to the 1990s. One of the highlights from the October 2023 runway show was a brand new handbag model – the Victoire. In the surprise ‘Tomboy’ fashion display, the Victoire accessorized an ensemble that included a leopard print fur jacket, leather cap, and leather loafers.
At first glance, the Victoire resembles – perhaps as a sister style to – the Celine bag of the moment – the Triomphe. Both are flap bags adorned with the Triomphe clasp. Upon closer examination, though, the Victoire vibe is more casual – a seemingly softer leather, extended flap closure, and slightly larger profile. With all the talk about the bigger bag resurgence, perhaps Celine is getting a head start with this new model.

Featuring a long adjustable chain strap with a maximum drop of 19″ and a minimum drop of 10″, the Victoire effortlessly transitions from a crossbody day bag to an evening shoulder bag. It can even be tucked under the arm for a more formal look.
Equipped with two inner compartments, including a zipped pocket and a smaller open pocket, the bag measures 10x6x3″. Lined with lambskin, the classic model is crafted from supple calfskin.
The medium size in supple calfskin is priced at $3,850 and is currently available in black and beige.
The medium pearly white python version is priced at $5,200, the all Triomphe canvas version is priced at $3,600, and the alligator with suede is priced at around $33,000.
There’s also a cute shearling version with Triomphe print priced at $4,450.
What are your thoughts about the Victoire? Is it destined to be Celine’s next hit?
