Louis Vuitton is no stranger to reimagining its classic prints and designs to create products which combine its celebrated heritage with bold new aesthetics. The house’s Cruise 2021 collection titled “GAME ON” does just this.
Designed by the house’s womenswear director Nicolas Ghesquière, the collection sports quirky motifs and innovative color palettes on Vuitton favorites like the Speedy and Toiletry Pouch. A giant red spade motif is featured alongside the brand’s iconic Monogram flower to create an eye-popping design that captures LV’s character as a brand.
Perhaps the most stand-out piece in the collection is the heart-shaped Monogram shoulder bag adorned with LV’s emblem and a subtle red heart in the corner. The design appears to be the perfect balance between classic LV elegance and eccentricity.
A touch of early 2000s nostalgia also graced Ghesquière’s designs. Speedy and Dauphine bags were featured in black and white adorned with colorful Monogram motifs and hearts, somewhat reminiscent of the hugely popular Multicolor range which was discontinued back in 2015.
Outlandish accessories from the collection include a fan of cards-shaped purse with the Vuitton Monogram flower incorporated into the symbol for each suit and a dice-shaped top-handle bag – all we can say is … let the games begin!
