UPDATE 5.18.23
And now we have the answer . . .
A Louis Vuitton store is coming to the Hamptons Memorial Day weekend 2023!!! Officially opening May 26, the boutique will feature the new summer LV By the Pool collection. Offerings will include ready-to-wear, accessories, leather goods, Objets Nomades.
The East Hampton boutique offers shopping seven days a week (though not 24/7, that’s what online is for). According to louisvuitton.com, Monday through Thursday you’ll be able to get your LV fix in person from 11am to 6pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to 7pm, and Sunday 12pm to 6pm.
Rainy day activities out east are now covered . . .
The world’s wealthiest man breaks yet another record with LVMH’s latest purchase of an East Hamptons retail property.
Bernard Arnault, CEO of the world leader in luxury LVMH, has purchased another retail property. The East Hamptons store located at 1 Main Street, was reportedly purchased by Bernard Arnault for an eye $22 million. This deal is currently the biggest commercial transaction in the East Hamptons so far this year.
The seller of the property was designer Elie Tahari and his son. Originally purchased for $7.5 million in 2006, the two-story, 5,000-square-foot building at the corner of Newtown Lane and Main Street was previously a retail store for a decade prior to closing.
The property itself dates back more than a century, however only recently last year was it renovated to host a Cartier pop-up. The Cartier pop-up occupied the building during the summer of 2022 – however since then, the retail space has been empty, and it currently isn’t clear if the pop-up will make a comeback this summer season.
What luxury stores are in East Hampton?
There’s nothing quite like a trip to the Hamptons. And where better to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon than exploring the East Hamptons?
There has been a flurry of luxury store openings in the past year. In the summer of 2022, we saw several exciting openings in the desirable East Hamptons location. Chanel opened the doors to its ultra-chic two-story boutique in June 2022.
Meanwhile, Dior hosted a pop-up to showcase their Diorviera summer capsule collection. Prada and Valentino came next, with their equally luxurious boutiques. So, who’s coming next?
Why did Arnault purchase an East Hamptons property?
The question on everyone’s mind is, which brand will Arnault be installing into the retail space? While it’s currently not clear what Bernard Arnault’s plans are for the new building, it is only reasonable to believe that LVMH will be considering installing one of his many luxury leading brands at the site. Currently, the LVMH conglomerate includes Christian Dior, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Stella McCartney and Tiffany & Co.
Who do you think will be launching a new East Hamptons-based store? Let us know your guesses in the comments.
