While some of us associate “peach fuzz” with newbie fuzzy pale facial hair growth that is often undesired, Pantone has made this “velvety gentle peach” tone its color of 2024. No facial hair involved.
In announcing the hue, Leatrice Wiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute said:
“In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.”
Whatever you may think of the new Peach Fuzz, the open question for us is, as always, which Hermès color – old or new – best represents this shade? There is no current Hermès peach or peche named leather color, though we have seen some jewelry with “peche melba.” Frankly, Peach Fuzz best resembles Hermès’ blush color Rose Abricot, albeit perhaps a bit darker.
Turning to leather, maybe it could be Natural (shown below in Vache Liégée), though that seems less peachy.
Or perhaps Crevette – a very light apricot shade – however it leans more pink.
Truthfully, though, neither is a true match. Could it be that Peach Fuzz is a shade even Hermès is reluctant to sell?
So tell us – Which Hermès color do you think is the best match to Peach Fuzz. And what do you think of Peach Fuzz? Will it be the color of your next handbag? Let us know.
