LVMH, the parent company of Louis Vuitton, just agreed to buy luxury hotel company Belmond for $3.2 billion. Perhaps,, unlike me, you’re not shocked and were aware that LVMH already is in the hospitality industry; it owns the Cheval Blanc (in the French Alps Courcheval ski resort) and Bvgalri hotels. The purchase of Belmond, they say, will expand their presence in the high end luxury travel sector.
Are you picturing LV monogrammed sheets? Or a damier toiletry kit? Any thoughts?
