I remove all seals on my bags, as a matter of time, often sooner than later… I have girlfriends who would never remove the sticker seals. On the other hand, some girlfriends have warned about uneven aging on hardware with delayed removal. Anyone with experience who can weigh in? Care tips too, anyone?!

I am always very hesitant to take them off because my carelessness tends to scratch the hardware- I bought my Kelly a little over a month ago and it has multiple scratched already. However, both times I scored in FSH my SA has reminded me to take off the stickers. Her reasoning is because USA is much more humid than Paris and the humidity in the air can negatively react to the beautiful Hermes hardware. If she did not emphasize her advice, I am sure I would have left it on haha. I trust her knowledge though!

This is a very relevant subject as I am the proud owner of an anemone K32 and the stickers are all on still!
With my first B I took them all off immediately so the hardware would shine bright and reflect in the reveal photos. This time I left them on, but am extremely tempted to remove. I may try to leave on a little longer, LOL
I am sharing a close up of my stickers as I assume these are the new trimmed versions happybaggage points out :)

Ooooooooh so nice! Congratulations dear Pursebop!! :) love love love! I was bursting with anticipation. Thank you for sharing! I am beginning to think that the perhaps the new stickers are not used on every new bag! Your stickers are the full ones – I like these better! The new ones have the corners cut out to show the knobs. My new blank Togo (t stamp) also has stickers like yours? Covers fully… I couldn’t resist, took them off already!

I’m definitely a sticker-leaver-onner, at least for a while. Whenever the edges start to peel, I go ahead and remove the stickers. One of my pals left hers on and the stickers left some marks on the hardware. However, she used a tiny bit of cleaner to polish off the residue and her hardware looked like mint condition after the residue was off. So, the stickers didn’t damage her hardware.

? hi Chi town Chanel! Thank you for dropping by and sharing! It’s a good tip on hardware rescue, would you know the brand your friend used, am sure fellow forum members will be most interested to save this useful information! As I am a “stickers off” person, I send my bags back to H customer service for any assistance all the time! In fact just today, they worked their magic on two little spots on my B, it’s so perfect I cannot tell where the spots were on the leather after!! ???

Hi Favloves! I think these are the new seals you are referring to. Cut around to avoid the knobs, so that the seals last longer… ?

Dear favloves (hello you! ? *waves*) do you mean the stickers are cut out around the knobs (as is done for the Kelly wallets?)… I have attached a pic of my seals after I removed them, the stickers cover the full hardware. Which I think is better for full protection? In the 3 months I had my Ghillies (with the seals on), there is significant dust catchment around the edges of the seals… Oh, and because the seals are affixed on by hand, there will be bubbling on the seals, that bothers me too ???!

Hi my dear, what I heard from local SA and saw is that unlike the older bags where the seals covered the entire hardwares. The new bags have the corners cut so it doesn’t peel as easily and supposedly helps with the aging too. Does your gorgeous anemone ghillies already have these new type of seals?

I have not heard this? Please explain further :) So plastic is cut? I am very curious.
-
Hi BirkinBabe, one of my bags has the new cut seals, see above! ?
-
Yes that’s it :)

I’m guilty of being pretty impatient so I rip the seals off as soon as possible…I can see how the uneven aging can be true.

I usually take them off as soon as they begin to lift a little. Depends on how much use the new B is put to!
I remove as soon as it plastic is not perfect. I find palladium shows plastic more than gold. Your thoughts happybaggage? What a gorge anemone ghillies!

Thank you dear BirkinBabe! I absolutely love the look of the hardware without the seals, so the slightest bubble in the seal will mess with my eyes and mind for days, until I remove the seals! It took me 3 months (I tried very hard) for this Ghillies before I had to rip the seals off!!
-
hehe, happybaggage there is something so special about seeing the hardware shiny and bright, LOL, your ghillies is gorgeous!
-
Thank you so much BirkinBabe! ????

Ever since my SA told me that those stickers would tarnish the hardware, I’ll remove them ASAP….. or at least within firs few uses of the bags. Well, I hate seeing those sticker edges getting dirty anyway.
