Would you want the man in your life to wear a diamond engagement ring? Surely there are plenty of fiancées who’d like the world to see that their guy is taken, even before the official ceremony. And heralded jewelers Tiffany & Co., now under the LVMH corporate umbrella, hopes to tap into this market. The US jewellry giant is launching its first ever collection of engagement rings for men.
The collection, named The Charles Tiffany Setting after the company’s late founder, offers a selection of diamond engagement rings designed specifically for men.
The collection’s launch comes at a time when more and more same-sex couples are tying the knot and gender fluid fashion is on the rise. Over the past few years, we’ve seen interest in gender fluid and men’s accessories, particularly handbags, surge with an increasing number of brands expanding their offerings. It looks like the jewelry industry is beginning to take note.
Tiffany & Co. has introduced the line to better suit society’s changing and more inclusive social norms and offer all couples who want it a chance to invest in the icon that is the Tiffany engagement ring.
The rings feature a thick band and round-brilliant and emerald-cut diamonds that measure up to 4.3 carats. Rings from the collection are perfect for male same-sex couples and women wanting to propose to their partners. The designs could also be worn by women.
Tiffany & Co. was acquired by French luxury conglomerate LVMH earlier this year in a record-breaking $15.8 billion sale. The deal has already proved lucrative for the French luxury giant. Sales in LVMH’s watches and jewelry division rose by 138% during this year’s first-quarter.
Since its founding in 1837, Tiffany & Co. has grown into one of the most sought-after jewelers of all time and its engagement rings in particular have become world-famous. The company’s decision to offer engagement rings for men marks a significant step in the right direction in terms of inclusivity for all kinds of couples. Perhaps other jewelers will take note and follow its lead.
The Charles Tiffany Setting collection is available now to buy online and in selected stores globally.
