As Hermès continues to strategically expand its presence across the United States, the opening of its 41st boutique in the Ivy League Mecca of Princeton just blocks away from the University.

Nestled in a charming brick building in Palmer Square, this new destination pays homage to the town’s academic heritage while exuding Hermès’ timeless elegance. Designed by the renowned Parisian architecture agency RDAI, the interiors boast a rich palette of deep blue greens and autumnal reds, complementing the warmth of the wooden shelving and herringbone floors.

Navigating through the series of passageways in the boutique, Hermès likens it to “the chapters of a story. ” The graphic, striped carpets, reminiscent of a stack of books, guide visitors through the various métiers, while curated furniture and artwork, featuring playful nods to equestrian themes.
Art, a significant element in the boutique’s décor, seamlessly blends contemporary pieces by artists like Evan Hecox with timeless masterpieces from the Émile Hermès collection. Adding to the celebration, American artist Ruby Wescoat’s window installation humorously showcases Princeton’s scholastic legacy.
At the heart of this new boutique opening stands Robert Chavez, Hermès CEO, whose roots intertwine with Princeton. A proud alumnus from the Class of ’77, his personal connection to the town infuses the boutique with a unique sense of familiarity and warmth.
As Hermès opens its doors to the vibrant and scholarly community of Princeton, there’s a hint of excitement in the air. Will there be bags? Will the Garden Party or Evelyne become the must-have accessory for the college crowd?
