The Chanel Cruise 2023 handbag collection has arrived… at least online, if not in boutiques. Will the luxury house win the race for top purse and hit the jackpot in popularity? All those puns are… intended for a collection that took inspiration from the site of the Chanel show in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
For those unfamiliar, it’s a lifestyles of the rich and famous kind of locale, complete with jet setters, international stars, and royalty. After all, it is the adopted home of the late Princess Grace (formerly Grace Kelly) and her children, including Princess Caroline, a Chanel global ambassador.
Also known for its international Casino and Motocross races, these activities feature in a group of collectible Monte Carlo minaudières. Cheekily, you can carry your own slot machine or motocross helmet. Just don’t expect a big payout at the casino or track . . . other than a most fashionable award.

Well beyond those kitschy and cute minaudières is a selection of bags that fit in real life. Whether you’re looking for classic, large, mini, Barbiecore, and more, Chanel offers something for nearly everyone.
Below are some of the handbags that caught our attention for cruising back into warmer weather. And certainly, there’s no need to wait to use them . . . Most would stylishly complete winter ensembles as well.
Small Jersey Hobo
No riding the rails for this hobo. It’s a classy shoulder style, with exterior pocket and classic leather-laced chain. The small version measuring 6.6″ x7.4″ X 2.3″ comes in black and red jersey, priced at $3800. Or, if you prefer, the same bag also comes in white leather or black patent for $4200. And for those who prefer a larger bag, it’s available in jersey material in colors including bright yellow, retailing at $4500.

Classic Flap
It wouldn’t be a Chanel bag collection without classic flaps, and there are plenty of options for Cruise 2023. But if you’re looking for one to really stand out, check out this multicolor flap. Sized like the medium, there’s no listed price. However, with the black lambskin and blue metallic versions at $8800, you can assume this one will cost more.

On the other hand, perhaps you prefer pops of color on the inside. Although Chanel flaps typically have muted or matching interiors, this red jersey classic exterior contains a pink surprise within. Just don’t be stunned by the $8100 price tag.

Large Bowling Bag
This striking bowling bag has room to spare. At 10.1″ x 12.1″ x 6.6″ it will carry your necessaries and then some. Shown in white calfskin, you can take it to work, shopping, or just out and about. Retail price is $5100. It’s a perfect score . . . and we’ll stop the bowling puns now lol.

Hot Pink Patent Vanity
Hot pink remains… hot as the Barbiecore trend shows no sign of waning. Chanel does it for Cruise in a vanity style bag in patent leather, cutely cubed at 5.7″ x 5.1″ x 3.1″. Also shown in white patent, both versions sell for $4200.

New Black Bags
This collections has us sold on black and gold. Two different styles particularly stand out.
The first is a small round bag with a gold leather chain laces strap and, impressively a metal handle “carved” with the word Chanel. Surprisingly edgy and ladylike, it’s a zip-around style closure. Measuring 6.8″ x 6.2″ x 2.5″, we expect to hold everything you need for an evening out.

The other is very small but oh so cute. Bordering on being an SLG rather than bag, this is the one featured after the initial runway show. Made of lambskin with gold metal, it’s 3.1″ x 2.3″ x 1.2″, selling for $5300.

Sparkling Mini Evening Bag
If you’re looking for sparkle in an evening bag, Chanel offers a cute cube-shaped minaudière in three variations. Two are on the light side, with either clear or pearl stones, along with colored gems. Alternatively, there’s a black version as well.

Although we’ve selected just a few mini-sized bags here, Chanel shows a wide selection of mini flaps for the Cruise season, perhaps more than we’ve seen before. Consider them variations on a theme; incorporating different embellishments and colors.
