A London Hermès Client Shares Her Experience Getting Her First Quota Bag

We wanted to share our community member’s experience shopping at Hermès in London. She received her first quota bag after 2 years of shopping. London and some Asian locations have instituted a new system where the quota bags are allocated through a central distribution system based on the 6 bags on your wishlist.

Please read her experience and let us know if your experience was similar or different.

Our Community Member’s Personal Experience:

Not a question but I wanted to share my recent experience in London (anonymously) as I was finally offered my first quota bag.

It took 2 years to finally get it (and my wish list was about to expire a second time a few weeks after the offer finally arrived). I spent quite a bit of money in Hermes the past 2 years, mainly fashion jewelry (like clic-clacks, etc), some home wear (tea cups), a few pairs of shoes, and I also got my husband a couple of polo shirts.

I also managed to score a couple of non-quota bags but at a different London location (before reading your article about loyalty to your SA).

Anyway, when I picked up my quota B35 I asked the SA about the process and she told me they (SAs) don’t have a lot of input into who gets a quota bag. And also that in store spend does not matter.

There is a central team which processes wish list bags. So when one comes in that team allocates it and the SA doesn’t influence this. Unless she was not being sincere, that is what I was told, straight from my SA.

My SA says they want people to be happy, buy what they like and they are happy to start a wish list for you but they really don’t have much say after that.

In London, any Birkin or Kelly bags are wish list. Same with the Constance. Other bags are not and if there is availability you may be offered. This is also my experience as in the past 2 years (at various London locations) I have been offered the Evelyn, Geta, Herbag, and Lindy in store, and some I took and some I turned down.

I hope that helps your research and information for others.
