Dear PurseBop:
My SA in my home store in the U.S. said there may be many changes instituted at Hermès stores in 2025 with respect to quota bags and family accounts. Are any of these rumors true?
Rumors:
- No more individual accounts among multiple family members, only one account per household is permitted.
- You can only buy non-quota bags on a spouse’s account.
- 1 Quota bag per person per account.
- No more shipping product outside your home address.
- Kelly Pochette non-exotic and Kelly Elan are still non-quota bags.
- Constance may be considered a Quota bag.
Dear Frantic about Hermès Rumors:
Every year rumors appear about changes in the selling policies at Hermès boutiques and how many quota bags each customer may purchase per year and more.
It is still early in the year but our understanding is as follows:
- Every boutique is permitted to individually institute and enforce guidelines that suit their location based on number of customers, size of boutique, regional location, number of Sales Associates employed at that location, etc.
- Hermès has not instituted a 1 quota bag per customer rule to our knowledge to date. However, individual boutiques may be unable to offer all of its clients 2 quota bags per year due to increased demand and low stock. Instead, they hope to focus on being able to provide as many clients with at least one wishlist bag as possible.
- Individual boutiques may institute the rule of not allowing multiple accounts in one family, but to our knowledge Hermès has not made this a world wide rule.
- Some locations in the U.S. count Kelly Pochette (leather and exotice) and Kelly Elan (leather and exotic) as quota bags and other locations do not. In Paris, to our knowledge the Kelly Pochette and Kelly Elan are not considered quota bags but offers are rare.
- The Constance is not considered a quota bag at the present time but some locations may consider it a quota bag if they desire.
