Question:
I requested a black Birkin 30 Retourne in Togo with gold hardware but was offered an epsom Sellier that I accepted. Was that a good decision or should I have waited for that Togo Retourne?

It is very common for your Hermès SA to offer you a bag which is not exactly like the one listed on your wishlist. They probably did not have the bag you requested available but had a similar one they thought you might enjoy.
A black Birkin 30 in Togo leather and gold hardware is a very popular and classic Hermès bag. To be offered a black Birkin 30 Sellier in epsom is an amazing offer as well. It is obviously a very personal choice whether you like the Sellier style of the Birkin. Many people (including all of us at PurseBop) love the style. However, there are people who prefer the classic Birkin instead.
You do not mention the reasons you accepted the offer of the Birkin Sellier so we can only assume that you loved it initially. You may be having Buyer’s Remorse. See our linked article below. The Sellier Birkin has all the wonderful qualities of the classic Birkin but is more structured like the Kelly Sellier and will never slouch.
If you are truly not happy with your bag you could speak with your SA about returning it and waiting until the Birkin you prefer becomes available. Or if you are building a collection, then a Birkin Sellier is an excellent choice to keep in your collection.
You could also inform your SA that although you love the Birkin Sellier you would like to keep the Birkin Retourne on your wishlist for your next quota bag offer.
