Dear PurseBop:

If I buy gifts or other items for my husband or other family members and friends is it counted toward my pre-spend?

Dear How to Build a Profile:

Any items you buy at Hermès that are paid for by you are recorded in your profile and counts toward your pre-spend, except the purchase of a Birkin or Kelly. You should continue to shop in all areas of the boutique such as shoes, ready to wear, home goods, fashion and fine jewelry, etc. All purchases made in these areas will build your profile and benefit you when you are offered a  quota bag.

Be aware that purchasing non-quota leather handbags may be excluded from your pre-spend for purposes of being offered a quota bag in some locations. Most locations prefer to see a variety of items from different departments and not just leather non-quota bags on a person’s profile. So our suggestion is to vary your spending. remember you can always ask your SA to advise you.

Buying gifts for family members and friends is a great way to build your profile. It is less about the total amount of prespend and more about your loyalty to the brand and true love of the items you purchase.

Good luck and happy shopping.
