Any Birkin or Kelly you desire is “worth the buy” if
(a) you can afford the cost,
(b) you truly love your purchase,
(c) and you intend to use it and enjoy it.

Although Birkins and Kellys substantially increase in price on the resale market, the amount you will likely recoup if you were to sell your beloved bag may or may not be as great. The resale value of any bag is dependent on its condition at the time of sale (new in box, preloved, etc), its age, its color, leather and hardware combination, its size, the popularity of that bag at the time of sale, and market conditions. For all these reasons, it is best to only buy what you love and intend to use and enjoy for a very long time.
