Is It Possible to Be Banned by Hermès? I Feel Ignored.

Dear PurseBop:

Is it possible to be banned in the Hermès database? I don’t have a dedicated SA because they usually ignore me after first meeting me and taking my information and what I’m looking for. Then I never hear from them again and/or they ignore my texts following up with them so when I go into the local boutique I will ask whoever is available, make a purchase and be on my way. Now I’m looking for a SLG and no one will call me back. I’m afraid there is something on my Hermès profile that says do not assist. Am I nuts? Thx!

Dear Ignored Client:

Although it is possible to be banned by Hermès, unless you are a reseller or have bought multiple items from the boutique and did something highly improper on social media, it is unlikely that you have banned by Hermès. Hermès would not likely avoid a client unless they have verified proof of improper behavior with respect to their products or boutiques.

It is more likely that you have not yet connected with one Sales Associate (SA) in your home boutique. Buying small items from various SA’s on each visit is not going to instill a sense of loyalty or love of the brand Hermès hopes you will develop. Shopping with one SA is designed to give you the experience you are hoping to achieve. You can make appointments with the SA and have a dedicated 1-hour appointment to browse, ask questions, and buy your items with no interruptions.

Our recommendation is to visit the store, or call first and make an appointment with one Sales Associate. Get to know the SA, purchase or order the items you are hoping to acquire, build a rapport and relationship with the SA, and as you shop with them they will become more responsive to your needs and desires.

Good luck and happy shopping.
