More than half the year has elapsed so far in 2024 and I have not received my first quota bag yet. Is it still possible to receive 2 quota bags before the end of the year?

Hermès used to have the rule that a client could only be offered 1 quota bag each “semester” or half of the year. We have heard that “rule” was discontinued and stated the rule was clients may receive 2 quota bags per year without regard to the amount of time that elapsed between the two offers. However, since the end of the pandemic, the “rules” keep changing and it is now up to each boutique to decide what period of time is required between quota bag offers. Some locations say 4 months, others say 6 months, and others have no rule.
Nevertheless, it may still possible to receive two quota bags before the end of the year, but it might depend on several factors:
- The availability of quota bags varies by location and store inventory. If the store you frequent has had limited stock, it may be challenging to receive two bags in the remaining months.
- If you have a strong relationship with your Hermès sales associate, it could work in your favor. If you express your desire to receive two quota bags, your SA might prioritize you when bags become available. It’s worth having an open conversation with your SA about your hopes for the year and asking about the likelihood based on current store policies and availability.
- If your upcoming visits are well-timed with new stock arrivals, you might have a better chance. Make sure to communicate with your SA in advance of your visits to see what might be available.
- Hermès typically allows one or two quota bags per year per client. If you’ve already received one, getting a second might require a bit more negotiation and timing.
- Consider traveling to Paris or another country in Europe or the UK. You may have a chance to score a quota bag although it is getting more and more challenging.
Some locations may only offer 1 quota bag per year due to the inability to meet the unprecedented demand for quota bags since the Pandemic Although a client may purchase a maximum of 2 quota bags per calendar year, that does not always mean there will be 2 available to be offered.
