Is it true that it is getting harder to score a quota bag or non-quota bag at Hermes in Paris?

Hermes’ selling practices and stock availability will always be a mystery. It is what keeps us intrigued and coming back for more. Lol Seriously though, our community members have been reporting on a regular basis during 2024 that overall it seems to be more challenging than in the past to be offered a quota bag and sometimes even a non-quota bag in Paris.

These are our impressions based on the reports we have received.

The number of new and existing customers shopping at Hermes in Paris has increased drastically and the demand greatly outweighs the supply.
Getting an online lottery appointment is possible but very challenging. The majority of people apply over multiple days (sometimes a week or more) with no success. But there are reports of success getting a lottery appointment. Unfortunately, the appointment does not guarantee the offer of a quota bag and many times customers walk out empty handed without even a non-quota bag.
Requesting a walk-in appointment is also quite challenging and more often results in being told there are no available slots that day. Nevertheless, some do actually get walk-in appointments but most walk-ins are not offered a quota bag and the offer of a non-quota bag is possible but not guaranteed.
Our best advice is to travel to Paris with low expectations of scoring a bag at Hermes. If it happens, rejoice. If it does not happen, return home and focus on building your relationship with your SA at your home store. While in Paris, visit the Hermes boutiques and buy only what you love and will use or give as gifts. Making large purchases does not guarantee the offer of a bag. So manage your expectations and enjoy Paris for all the wonderful things it has to offer in addition to the shopping.
