Is It Rude To Ask The Hermès SA the Price of a Birkin or Kelly?

Dear PurseBop:

I’m not from the US, so I’m not sure how much is the Kelly and Birkin retailing for in my country. Would it be majorly rude to ask the SA about the retail price even if I’m not offered a bag?

We often publish the prices of Hermès Birkins and Kellys in the U.S. and in Europe. Our article listing the prices of most of the leather bags offered is linked below. In your country the price could be slightly higher or lower than in the U.S.

It is completely acceptable to ask your SA the price of a particular bag in the size you are interested in. Your SA is your source of all information relating to Hermès products. Part of building a relationship with one SA allows you the time and ability to ask questions about the Hermès bags and other products that are available for purchase. Some boutiques have sample bags that they allow their clients to view and try on for size to determine the best size for them.

Make an appointment with your SA, explore the different departments, and ask about the leather bags you have interest in placing on your wishlist. All your questions will be answered and the price of a Birkin and Kelly in your country will be revealed.
