Dear PurseBop:
Is it true that US stores will limit customers to one quota bag only starting 2024?
Dear One Quota Bag:
As we have reported Hermès boutiques in different cities in the U.S. (and all over the world) follow guidelines from corporate but we suspect are free to operate their individual boutique in ways that suits their clientele, demand and location. There are certain boutiques that may have established a one quota bag per year rule but we are unable to report which locations may adhere to this rule. To our knowledge there is not an official change (corporate mandate) to the number of quota bags per year, rather a restriction being placed by individual boutiques. There has been an huge surge over the past few years in the number of clients Hermès is servicing which makes them unable to meet the demand of every client. We can assume this from their soaring profits compared to other brands in 2023.

Some boutiques may adhere to the one quota bag per client suggestion for newer clients who do not have an established or long term relationship with the brand or the location. It will depend on the amount of bags the location receives, the demand for those bags, the relationship with the SA, and many other factors.
It is always best to discuss the requirements, rules, and other information with your personal SA. They are your best source for what rules have been established at your location. The day to day operations of your Hermès boutique are usually established by the managing directors of that location. Some rules apply to everyone whereas we know there are always exceptions to the rules.
Read our related articles for more information and visit your boutique to confirm any of the requirements you may have heard. Otherwise, as always, enjoy the journey, be patient, and show your SA kindness.
