Is The Hermès Waitlist Back?

Dear PurseBop:
Is the Hermès waitlist back?
Dear Curious about Waitlist:
In the past, Hermès utilized a “waitlist” where clients informed their SA that they desired a bag and their SA put them on a waitlist. When that bag arrived and the client was approved to be offered the bag, the client was contacted.
However, presently quota bags are not technically handled by “waitlists.” Now it is called a “wishlist” in the U.S. and some other countries. A wish is submitted to your SA so they know what bag to be on the lookout for you. (However, in the UK and parts of Asia, some locations are using a centralized wishlist system). When a bag arrives that meets the criteria or preferences on your wishlist, your SA may be able to obtain manager approval to offer the bag to you.
During the Pandemic, the U.S. boutiques were using waitlists for many non-quota bags and leather goods, home goods, and other items because the inventory was so low and greatly affected by the supply chain shortage.
Leather products such as mini Evelynes, Lindys, 24/24, Picotins and other leather items had waitlists of 20-30 people long per boutique. When the boutique received a shipment the top person(s) on the waitlist would be contacted. If they changed their mind or no longer wanted the bag, it was offered to the next person in line.
The waitlists utilized during the Pandemic were effective but we presume the lists got too long and, therefore, were unmanageable and not able to be fulfilled.
Last year waitlists were discontinued by the boutiques for all products including non-quota bags. Presently, although there are no more waitlists for popular items, your SA may be able to order the product either online or from another store. There are restrictions though. Ask your SA if the item you desire may be ordered or requested from another store.
