Dear PurseBop,
Thanks to your guidance, I scored my first Birkin in Paris last Summer. Since then I have established a good relationship with an SA in my home city. I was already offered a Birkin earlier this year, and accepted it. I have even been offered the chance to special order a pair of lizard Oasis sandals. I am traveling to Paris again this Summer and would love to try my luck at getting a mini Kelly, which I also have on my wish list at my home store. Now that profiles in France and US are linked, do you think I should give my SA a heads up that I want to try to score in Paris? Or do you think this will damage my relationship with my SA?
Dear Desperate for a Mini Kelly:
It is so great that you have established a good relationship with a Hermès SA in your home city. When traveling to Paris, it is not necessary to advise your SA that you are hoping to score a mini Kelly in Paris. If it happens, you can choose to tell your SA when you return.
If you purchase a quota bag in Paris that will be your second quota bag for the year. Your SA will likely be happy for you if you receive a bag in Paris. They might also be relieved that they do not have to try to get you a quota bag for the rest of this calendar year and can focus on other clients. We do not believe it will damage your relationship at your home store at all.
Good luck and happy shopping in Paris.
