What Do I Do If My Local Hermès Boutique Does Not Have the Item I Desire But Another Location Does?

Dear PurseBop:

I have a local Hermes SA who is wonderful. Tried to buy several high-ticket items over the holiday but there is very low inventory. If I find the items I am searching for at another Hermes store, will my local SA be unhappy with me?

Dear High-Ticket Shopper:

Unfortunately, low inventory has been an issue particularly since the Pandemic. It is understandable to be disappointed when the item you desire is not available at your location.

If you buy the high-ticket items from another store, be aware that it will not benefit you in your home boutique if your goal is to be offered a quota bag. That purchase will not be added to your spend profile with your SA. If your goal is to shop and buy items you love from Hermès without being offered a quota bag then your SA will likely understand.

However, it is best to ask your SA if they are able to order the item for you from Hermès online in store or from another location. You must be present in the store for your SA to order the item for you. You pay for the item at the time it is ordered and it will either be shipped to you or to your boutique. Your SA will receive commission for this order and it will be added to your purchase history with your SA. To maintain your relationship with your SA this is the best way to proceed. If the items are not available for ordering your SA will likely not mind that you obtained it from another location. They want you to be happy.

Good luck and happy shopping.
