What Is the Best Location For Shopping In Paris at Chanel and Goyard?

I’m going to Paris next week. My goal is to get a Chanel 19 in particular (green color) in small and a Goyard tote pm (Artois) for myself.

I tried to search for several locations of Chanel and wanted to ask you which store/location would have more variety in case I do not get the bag I desire? I would rather go to one Chanel store.

I get Goyard flagship store is always packed. Should I get it at Galeries Lafayette or should I go somewhere else?

Please give me some tips as I’m not planning to spend a lot of time shopping.

How exciting that you are traveling to Paris soon. It is a great place to explore and shop. With respect to Chanel there are so many boutiques in many areas we do not believe that one necessarily has more inventory than others.

Here are the locations to choose from:

The Flagship Chanel boutique is located at 31 Rue Cambon where Coco Chanel had an apartment upstairs. There is another equally fabulous boutique steps away at 19 Rue Cambon. A new Chanel boutique also recently opened at 21 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. These three locations are very close to each other. There are also locations at 42 Av. Montaigne, 51 Av. Montaigne, 52 Av. des Champs-Élysées, and 25 Rue Royale. There are Chanel boutiques in Bon Marche at 24 Rue de Sèvres, and in Galeries Lafayette at 40 Boulevard Haussmann. It is likely that one of these locations may have the Chanel 19 you are hoping to purchase.

In our experience, it is best to first visit the boutique closest or most convenient to where you are staying or spending most of your time. We have found the Chanel SA’s extremely helpful with finding a particular bag in another location if they do not have it in store, and can direct you to either a department store such as Bon Marche, Galeries Lafayette, or another boutique location. The department stores often are less busy and may have items that other locations sell out of quickly. If you have limited time, Bon Marche may be a good place to start your journey.

With respect to Goyard, the Paris flagship location, located at 233 Rue Saint-Honoré, is a great place to start shopping and we suggest getting there early if possible. However, we have had luck walking into that location mid-day with no line. You never know how busy the store will be until you arrive unfortunately. There is also a Goyard in Printemps department store located at 64 Bd Haussmann, that many do not know exist. This may be a good place to begin your Goyard shopping. The SA’s will likely help you find your Artois tote if they do not have one at that time.

Shopping in Paris is extremely popular and exciting. However, predicting the best location to shop for one particular bag is not possible. Good luck and enjoy Paris.
