Tuesday the 5th marks the Lunar New Year, the festival that celebrates the beginning of traditional Chinese calendar and is associated with the coming of spring. This year, we enter into the year of the pig, one of the 12 astrological signs that make up the Chinese Zodiac. To commemorate the holiday, Dior has released a Lunar New Year capsule collection.
This collection reimagines the classic Toile de Jouy pattern, for a special edition print in honor of the Lunar New Year. The pattern features flowers, a lucky symbol. Additionally, its stunning red color, well loved by Christian Dior himself, is also in homage to the New Year. Red is a lucky color in Chinese culture and a traditional color of the holiday.
This capsule collection includes a wide range of Dior favorites, from the saddle bag and Dior tote to the Walk’N’Dior sneakers.
You can find the capsule collection in Dior stores now, so you can celebrate the New Year with luck and prosperity. If you have any members of the collection, make sure to share in the comments below and on BopTalk!
