The Dior Men’s Spring 2024 show was no phoenix rising given the Maison’s continuing success . . . although models spectacularly rose (and later descended) through square tiles on the floor. Celebrating his five years at the helm, designer Kim Jones stated that “Dior is a haute couture house . . . a culture we have inherited from womenswear past and applied to menswear present.”

Held in the courtyards of Paris’ Ecole Militaire, there is a more feminine – or gender-neutral – side to the designs. Jewels embellished tweeds and other fabrics. Colors and patterns ranged from subdued to pale pink, neon yellow, Diorissimo, and leopard.

Perhaps it follows that so many ensembles included handbags. A large number were held by hand clutch-style – despite what appeared to be shoulder straps. One version was a boxy flap (with a strap) seen in black, gray, and camel.
