Another price hike is here!
February 2021 kicks off with Dior raising its prices in the United States (although our sources say global increase will follow shortly, maybe even by February 5th). Indeed, taking a cue right out of the Louis Vuitton playbook (LV and Dior are sister companies under the LVMH umbrella), Dior wasted no time jumping in on the 2021 price hike trend. The jump is palatable for some categories and on the higher side for others.
The increase appears to be comprehensive across the board encompassing most categories including bags, scarves, ready to wear, footwear and other accessories.
As you may recall, back in July 2020, Dior increased its prices, just like Louis Vuitton and Chanel before it. Read: Dior Raises Prices 2020
At the time, we wondered whether it was a case of “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” at finding a way to shore up declining revenues amid the ongoing pandemic.
Both Louis Vuitton and Chanel increased prices in recent weeks, so it seems almost appropriate that Dior follow suit.

Let’s take a look at the quantum of the price increases. The classic Dior Book Tote last priced at $2900 saw a 12% increase. It now retails for $3,250.
The Oblique Canvas Mini Saddle Bag just jumped a whopping 20% to $3,250! This is a continuing trend reflecting the popularity of mini sizes, as their prices rise higher than other categories. The medium bag in the same category is also up a significant 13.4%.
Interestingly, this now puts the Oblique Canvas Mini Saddle at exactly the same price as the Oblique Dior Tote. It’s a fascinating case of which would you rather, don’t you think?
Fortunately, Lady Dior fans can breathe a sign of relief. Prices for that style are relatively mild. The Lady Dior Mini, Medium and Large bags in 2020 were priced at $3950, $4900 and $5300, respectively. With a 6-9% increase those numbers now stand at $4300, $5200 and $5600. Here too, though, the mini size gets the biggest upgrade – with an increase of 9%.
