Shopping in Paris has been a very hot topic here on PurseBop. Since Paris is home to many French fashion houses including Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton and Dior, the shopping experience is unparalleled and authentically chic. While shopping in Paris is a dream, recent price shifts from Chanel and even Hermes have totally changed the stakes when it comes to vacation indulgences. A few months ago, PurseBop took you in-depth through the Paris experiences from Elizabeth in the “Chanel – No Longer a Tourist Bag” post and @dreamingofh “Springtime in Paris: Shoppers’ Paradise” post. Now, we are delighted to present you with even more stories, price information, and eye candy to help you fearlessly navigate all things Paris related.
Recently, a few of our favorite IG fashionistas including BopTalk celebrity @mylifeincolors_ (Francine), @inmystyle (Natasha), and @arilovesfashion (Ari) took a girls’ trip to Paris, and it looked nothing short of incredible. Our girls hit all the objectives: food, fashion, and fun. The trio created some unforgettable memories, and we’ve captured all the highlights. Follow the pictures below to live vicariously through their adventures and become inspired for your next trip to Paris!
A Taste of Paris
Of course, our girls arrived in Paris itching to roam all the stores. Visions of familiar black, white, and orange bags swinging from their arms raced through their minds. A field of fashion gold mines lay right in front of them, but they needed fuel to conquer the territory. So, first things first – food! The only thing that rivals shopping in Paris is the amazing food and scenic restaurants. The trio dined at some fabulous spots and had a unique taste of Paris.

Finding Bag Love in Paris!
The trio browsed through Hermes, Chanel, Celine, and many more stores taking in all the temptations. Naturally, when it came to bags our girls couldn’t resist! Both @mylifeincolors_ and @arilovesfashion decided mini bags were the way to go! BopTalk celeb @mylifecolors_ fell in love with the Micro Lady Dior bag. Likewise, @inmystyle found a fabulous velvet Chanel mini perfect for the fall and winter.

The Price Dilemma
While picking up her new Chanel bag, @inmystyle did some price investigation. A couple of months ago in the US, she purchased a Chanel grafitti messenger for around $5,000 including tax, $4,400 without tax. In the store in Paris, she spotted the same bag for €3100, which is around $3,465 USD. If she had waited and purchased the messenger in Paris, she would have saved around $935 (excluding VAT refund and US duty tax). Suffice to say, the difference was shocking!
For the longest time, buying Chanel in Europe always meant savings. However, recent price realignments makes the game a little less clear now. After April 8th, Chanel increased prices in Europe to due to the depreciating euro in a move to harmonize prices globally for a potential e-commerce platform. The price change for the most part has only effected the iconic bags – the classic flap, the reissue, and the Boy Bag. As newer bags are released, we can probably expect to see prices more aligned across regions. However, limited edition pieces and bags from certain collections may still be cheaper or more advantageous to buy in Europe.
The rules of the handbag world change quickly, and you have to stay on your feet. Do your price research – good thing PurseBop is here to help!

Unforgettable Fun!
The trio went to fabulous restaurants, picked up some great treasures, but more importantly, enjoyed bonding with each other and seeing the wonders of Paris! I think we can expect a reunion in the near future…
