If you’re wondering about the temperature in Paris today, the Hermès Men’s Summer 2024 show left no question. It’s hot. An avidly watching packed crowd, fanned themselves with programs, as models strutted down, around, and through. Colors were muted and subtle, in a vibe totally that of stealth wealth. Or a bit Miami Vice, with toned down hues. Get ready for the short shorts guys, along with fisherman sandals.
Maybe consider next summer the one to grab a HAC. If you can. Seen repeatedly on the runway, in leather colors including black, brown, beige (maybe both etoupe and gold) and muted gray blue, as well as a canvas version.
But here’s the real surprise. Look really carefully at the leather HACs. Do you see it? Full of secrets, Hermès has us on our toes and with a keen eye . . . There’s a version with a shadow clochette and lock.
Hermès also brought out classic styles in oversized versions. The leather Plume was big again – in black and brown shades. As you may recall, that style also featured prominently in the Men’s Fall Winter 2023 grouping. The Garden Party tote appeared in what seemed to be a printed leather.

Are the men stealing from the women’s side? Hmm. Perhaps. Male models carried a north-south drawstring bucket tote bearing resemblance (but maybe not identical to) one seen in the women’s Fall 2023 show.
With fisherman sandals walking so many looks, it makes sense to have a fishnet bag . . . to carry your catches. Caution though; this style probably is not for your most valuable possessions. The holes are quite large. However, it could be fun for the beach.
To keep things closer to your chest, there’s a cross body with two lock closures, as well as what looks like a fabric sling or cross body. Happily go hands free and secure for a casual vibe.
Are any of these bags making your Hermès wishlist? On the other hand, perhaps you prefer the smaller styles shown for women. Let us know.
