Louis Vuitton's New Pont 9 Makes Heads Turn

2020, thus far, is a year of covetable Louis Vuitton items. And the latest – the LV Pont 9 – just hit stores.

The global pandemic interrupted LV’s launch of the Escale Collection, although many items sold out quickly. Now, LV introduces what it hopes will be the hottest bag of the season – the LV Pont 9 handbag. Named after the iconic Point Neuf Bridge that is situated opposite the LV Headquarters in Paris, the stylish new bag already has been seen on celebrities like Sophie Turner, Laura Harrier, Alicia Vikander and Emma Roberts.

According to Louis Vuitton, “[t]he shoulder bag is Louis Vuitton’s latest embodiment of effortless Parisian chic and a new symbol of its ongoing commitment to exquisite craftsmanship.”

Crafted from smooth cowhide, the Pont 9 is lady-like yet practical, luxurious yet subtle. Structured and sleek, the shape is a subtle rectangle with rounded edges. Inside sports 2 compartments plus a flat pocket and zippered pocket. The main inner compartment is in a bright leather – the color dependent upon the main bag hue. For example, the black version has hot pink inside. On the other hand, some of the other colors have a blue-leaning-to-turquoise interior.

Another cute surprise is the magnetic flower closure. The LV circle logo clasp may appeal to those looking for a less-obviously branded handbag. The adjustable strap allows both a shoulder and cross-body use.

Right now it’s available online and in stores in five colours (Noir, Blue, Gold, Crème and Pink) at a price point of $3,900.
