PurseBop community member @les.reveal fell in love at first sight with the Birkin 25 Sellier the Hermès manager presented to her on that special day in October. She was surprised at how beautiful it looked in the new Bronze D’ore color. The shimmering leather used was Veau Madame. Although she was hoping for a Gold K25 with ghw this year, when presented with this holy grail bag, she could not resist.

She described her new beauty as a “lady” that is more structured (like the Kelly), but “elegantly standing.” She also found the Birkin Sellier to be very lightweight and more formal looking.

Expect this new Birkin to accompany her to special events, afternoon tea, lunch, and boutique events. It is not a bag she would use on a daily basis or for shopping. She delights in how beautiful, light and chic the bag feels. To her surprise, she instantly “f[e]ll in love with this beauty.”

PurseBop community member, @_fancysuccess_, received a huge surprise from her Hermès SA when he presented her with this stunning Noir Birkin 30 Sellier with ghw. She was hoping for a Birkin 30 in Noir with ghw to add to her growing collection this year. However, she also immediately fell in love with this new, structured, elegant Birkin. He told her that the Sellier Birkin is extremely rare, very difficult to get, and truly a holy grail bag in any collection.

The Veau Madame calfskin leather in Noir has a sheen that gives it an elegance perfect for evening. @_fancysuccess_finds the Sellier Birkin to be softer to the touch than Epsom leather and much lighter than her other Birkins.

From a marketing standpoint,@_fancysuccess_ believes Hermès is brilliant to introduce a Birkin Sellier. It is another rare holy grail bag that every fashionista will be trying to score in the future.

Another Pursebop community member offered a Noir Birkin 35 Sellier is @tylerchamps. He was hoping for a new quota bag that both he and his husband could enjoy equally. This bag was perfect! They both love the structured design of the Birkin Sellier which gives it a classier look, much like the Kelly. Although they love all size Birkins, the Sellier Birkin clearly stands apart from the rest. @tylerchamps and his husband anticipate placing this special acquisition into the rotation of the many beautiful bags they own.

PurseBop community member @orange.diaries had an interesting perspective when she shared her opinion about the stunning Birkin 25 Sellier in Vert Criquet she recently received. She opined that the Sellier Birkins would fare better in more humid environments than the retourne Birkins.

The high humidity in Asian countries, even in the winter, caused the original Birkins in non-exotic leathers to easily slouch a few months after purchase. However, the sellier style would likely hold its shape better given the same period of time and same type of leather.

She also shared that since the Birkin is usually worn open, (unlike the Kelly), accessing your items should not be more difficult than the retourne Birkin. In her view, the capacity inside the two styles of Birkins to be similar with no loss of space due to the added structure. The only downside with the more rigid structure and convex corners may cause it to get scratched or bumped into more often in large crowded cities such as Hong Kong.

In sum, those lucky enough to score one of the first Birkin Selliers to be offered are sure to be the envy of all others. The new chic, structured look is subtle but striking. Veau Madame calfskin is lightweight with an exquisite sheen. Everyone agrees that the new Birkin sellier is a holy grail bag befitting any Hermès collection.
