Halfway through 2020 and it’s probably not what anyone expected! Although we are reeling from the impact of it all – including the pandemic, lockdowns and worldwide protests – there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully it will all be behind us sooner rather than later and we will emerge stronger.
In the meantime, and perhaps as a useful distraction, we can build a wishlist of future indulgences. Many of us put aside a certain amount (whether from income, savings or gifts) towards luxury expenses each year. This can range from handbags and jewels to luxury holidays and experiences. For now, alas, holidays and experiences will take a backseat, leaving us with more for other treats. We assembled a series of potential choices at various price points. Let’s play… which would you rather?
Price Point: $500-$600
How many of us are guilty of spending every last dime when we travel? And what about that precious VAT cash refund we get back at the airport? If in the tune of a few hundred dollars, then enamel Hermès trinkets or the pearly beauties at Chanel are always a first choice.
Just because travel is on the back burner doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself with one of these. Which would you add to your shopping bag?
Price Point $1,000-$1,200
In the mood to spoil yourself some, but don’t want to go overboard or appear too flashy? Here are two options that suit the situation perfectly:
A Goyard tote (if you can get your hands on one) is all things practical. The summery yellow hue of this one is a plus.
Pitch it against the elegant and understated Tiffany T- Square Silver Bracelet and take your pick.

Price Point $1,600-$1,800
It’s your birthday…soon (like within the next eleven months) and since there won’t be any parties or holidays around it, splurging on the much hyped LV multi-pochette could perhaps make up for the lack of a big celebration. Compare it to the elegant Chopard ice-cube diamond ring that is oh-so-precious, and vote here for your favourite.

Price Point $3,700-$4,000
This probably was a real dilemma for many in the pre-covid world: Chanel bag versus Van Cleef earrings. Let’s assume nothing has changed, not even the prices. If you could, which would you choose?

If you are one of those people who save cash gifts for years on end waiting for the right splurge, then pick from one of these.

Baby on the way? Consider these for your push-present (if that’s something you do). Solitaire diamond earrings or a Birkin Bag are both perfect for an unforgettable and eternal gift. Which one has your vote?
